Singapore's national marathon is a World Athletics Gold Label race, held over the first weekend of December. Runners start beside Marina Bay in the dark, pass the city's skyline and finish inside the National Stadium.
Stay near the start. Every race starts at the F1 Pit Building, and the half and full marathons flag off at 4.30am.
On marathon morning (Sunday 6 December), selected North-South, East-West and Circle Line sections run free trains from 2.30am, every 15 minutes.
The finish is at the National Stadium, so you'll need the MRT or a taxi to get back to a hotel near the start.
Book a paid bag deposit when you register if you need one: bags are dropped at the start and collected at the finish.

On marathon morning, free early trains run from 2.30am on selected sections of the North-South, East-West and Circle Lines, and paid shuttle buses run throughout race weekend.

The race weekend runs from Friday 4 to Sunday 6 December 2026: the 10 km (8.30pm) and 5 km (9.30pm) on Friday, the half marathon at 4.30am on Saturday and the marathon at 4.30am on Sunday.
Yes, under a new name. From 2026 Singapore's national marathon is the BYD Singapore International Marathon presented by adidas, still on the first weekend of December. Standard Chartered now sponsors the 10 km race.
All races start at the F1 Pit Building beside Marina Bay and finish at the National Stadium in Kallang.

The marathon and half marathon are sold out. Registration for the Standard Chartered 10 km, 5 km and Kids Dash was extended to 31 October 2026, or until those races are full.
For the marathon, book Saturday night at least – and Sunday too if you want to rest after the race. For the half marathon, book Friday night. Most runners also arrive a day or two earlier to collect their race pack.
