Get there early. Police cap the numbers at Merlion Park, The Promontory, Esplanade Park and the Marina Bay Sands promenade, and close each area once it's full.

Check Crowd@MarinaBay on the night. Last year it showed live crowd levels and area closures from 7pm.

Avoid the busiest stations. City Hall, Raffles Place and Bayfront were expected to be very crowded; Esplanade, Promenade, Downtown and Marina Bay were suggested instead.

Getting There
Every MRT line has a stop near Marina Bay, and train services were extended on New Year's Eve last year. Stations around the bay can be very crowded: some exits may close, and trains may skip Bayfront if it gets too busy. The organisers encourage public transport because roads and lanes around the bay are closed for the event.
