The northern edge of Pattaya is the closest part of the city to Wisdom Valley and has many of the area's best-reviewed hotels, such as Grande Centre Point Pattaya, Grande Centre Point Space, OZO North Pattaya and Navana Nature Escape. You're a short ride from the centre's restaurants and nightlife without staying in the busiest streets.

Inland East Pattaya, towards Mabprachan Reservoir, is the closest area with a good choice of well-reviewed places to stay, including private pool villas suited to groups. There are far fewer hotels than on the coast and little within walking distance, so plan on taxis or a car for everything.

Beach Road, Second Road and Soi Buakhao have the widest choice of hotels at every budget, along with most of Pattaya's restaurants and nightlife. Traffic leaving the city centre can be heavy, so allow extra time on festival days.

Jomtien is Pattaya's more laid-back neighbour, with newer hotels and more space for the money. It's further from Wisdom Valley than the city, but a good fit if you want beach days before or after the festival.

South of Jomtien, Na Jomtien has high-end resorts such as Mason and Andaz Pattaya Jomtien Beach. It's the furthest of these areas from the festival, so it suits travellers who value a quiet, premium base over a short ride.
